Norwegian Reward Card Terms and Conditions ("Credit Reward Terms")

By applying for and opening a Norwegian Reward World Mastercard® Credit Card (“Norwegian Reward Card”), you hereby agree to be bound by these Credit Reward Terms. These Credit Reward Terms supplement Norwegian Reward, the frequent flier program terms and conditions to which you have agreed previously. CashPoints earned using the Norwegian Reward Card are in addition to CashPoints earned in the Norwegian Reward program.

Make purchases with your Norwegian Reward Card and earn CashPoints

When you make an eligible net purchase (eligible purchases minus all credits, returns and adjustments) ("Eligible Purchase") with your Norwegian Reward Card, you will automatically earn CashPoints as long as your Norwegian Reward Card account is open and in good standing at the time you make an Eligible Purchase and your Norwegian Reward account is open at the time you redeem your CashPoints. CashPoints are Norwegian’s digital currency with a value equivalent to the Norwegian Krone (1 CashPoint = 1 Norwegian Krone). The amount of US Dollars (“USD”) you earn in CashPoints is explained below. The number of CashPoints you earn per USD is determined by the currency conversion of the Norwegian Krone (“NOK”) to the USD as of the day CashPoints earned under the Program are posted to your Norwegian Reward account. For example, if the currency conversion rate of the NOK to the USD on January 1 is 9:1 and you have $50 in CashPoints that are posted that day, the number of CashPoints posted to your Norwegian Reward account would be 450 (9 x 50 = 450). After the day on which any CashPoints are posted to your account, CashPoints ongoing value in USD, including at time of redemption, may fluctuate based on the daily currency conversion rate of the NOK to the USD. CashPoints will be calculated at the end of the billing cycle in which the Eligible Purchase was posted to your Norwegian Reward Card account and will appear on your Norwegian Reward member account at us.norwegianreward.com. Special financing purchases, balance transfers, cash advances, finance charges and fees associated with your credit card are not Eligible Purchases.

  • New Account Bonus. If you make $500 or more in Eligible Purchases in the first 90 days after you open your Norwegian Reward Card account, you will earn $50 in CashPoints. This new account bonus may only be used to make purchases at Norwegian.com. You will earn the $50 CashPoints new account bonus automatically if you open a Norwegian Reward Card account at the same time or in the same on-line session in which you purchase an airline ticket with Norwegian Air (even if the purchase price is less than $500).
  • Anniversary Bonus. If you make $20,000 or more in Eligible Purchases during the 12-month period between your Norwegian Reward Card anniversaries, you will earn $100 in CashPoints in your anniversary month.
  • Norwegian Air Purchases. When you use your Norwegian Reward Card to make Eligible Purchases with Norwegian Air or at Norwegian.com, you will earn CashPoints equal to 2% of every USD spent, rounded to the nearest whole dollar. For example, if you make a Norwegian Air Purchase equal to $1,000, you will earn $20 in CashPoints ($1000 x .02),
  • Dining and Grocery Purchases. When you use your Norwegian Reward Card for Eligible Purchases made at restaurant dining establishments or Eligible Purchases at grocery stores, you will earn CashPoints equal to 2% of every USD spent, rounded to the nearest whole dollar. For example, if you make a Dining Purchase equal to $100, you will earn $2 in Cash Points ($100 x.02). Eligible Purchases made at restaurant dining establishments and grocery stores will be determined by the merchant category code (the "MCC"). An MCC is a four-digit classification code that is assigned to a merchant by the merchant's payment card network or merchant processor based on the predominant business activity of the merchant. For example, a dining purchase at the café area of a department store may have an MCC identification as a type of merchant other than a dining establishment and therefore would not qualify as a dining purchase under these Credit Reward Terms. Similarly, grocery purchases at Walmart, Target and other big box retailers would not qualify. Neither Norwegian Air nor Synchrony Bank assigns or has responsibility for the assignment of MCCs associated with a transaction or evaluates which MCC should be assigned to a particular merchant. Neither Norwegian Air nor Synchrony Bank is responsible for awarding CashPoints for Eligible Purchases made at merchants that do not accurately report transactions using the correct MCC described above.
  • All Other Purchases. When you use your Norwegian Reward Card for Eligible Purchases made everywhere else Mastercard credit cards are accepted, you will earn CashPoints equal to 1% of every USD spent, rounded to the nearest whole dollar. For example, if you make other purchases equal to $400, you will earn $4 in CashPoints ($400 x .01).

Redeem Your CashPoints

You can use CashPoints to pay for all Norwegian flights to any destination with no blackout dates and no minimum spend. Redemption of CashPoints is very easy, you simply log in at norwegian.com, find your preferred flight and choose to pay with CashPoints at the payment page at the end of the booking path. Your Norwegian Reward account must be open and in good standing at the time you redeem your CashPoints. If your account is not in good standing at that time, any CashPoints earned will not be posted to your Norwegian Reward account until your account is brought back into good standing status. If your Norwegian Reward Card account is closed for any reason before your CashPoints are calculated or credited to your Norwegian Reward account, you will forfeit all CashPoints you may have earned that had not yet been credited to your Norwegian Reward Program account. As a benefit of carrying the Norwegian Reward Card, your CashPoints will have a longer expiration period. All CashPoints you earn in the Norwegian Reward program, including those you earn by using your Norwegian Reward Card, will expire forty-eight (48) months from the end of the calendar year in which the CashPoints were earned.
